About Me

My name is Irene Sierra and I am a professional translator and localisation specialist. I studied at the University of Granada (Spain) and my working languages are Spanish, English and Russian.

My job is to make the texts of my clients understood in other countries and thus address a wider audience. I also help companies and developers promote their multimedia products (web sites, software and videogames) in foreign countries and for culturally diverse users.

My Services

Sworn and Legal Translation

In 2013 I was appointed a sworn translator in English by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. I also do legal translations from Russian into Spanish.

Localisation of Multimedia Content

I studied the Master's Degree Translation and New Technologies: Translation of Software and Multimedia Products at the Menéndez Pelayo International University and have collaborated with video game localisation companies.

Editorial Translation and Transliteration

I am fascinated by reading and I confess that my favourite assignments are editorial translations. I also check the correct transliteration of Russian names and terms into Spanish.

As a professional translator, I believe that belonging to an association not only helps us, as professionals, to get to know our rights, get advice and training and do our job according to a Code of Good Practices, but they [i.e. professional associations] also make our work visible and answer questions that our clients usually have. I am currently a member of APTIJ (the Spanish Professional Association of Court and Sworn Interpreters and Translators) and AEPRU (the Spanish Association of Professionals of Russian Language and Culture). I am also a basic member of ACE Traductores.
